Abigail in Columbus, OH

Just Adopted! Abigail is a 1-year old girl who just went to live with the couple below...

Our heartfelt thanks to those of you who donated to help cover the veterinary expenses for her unexpected hospitalization.

I know that some people have emailed to inquire about her prior to this web posting, and I think I responded to most of you that I would not be considering any applicants until she had her recheck. Well, she did and there is no evidence of pneumonia and her urinary tract infection has resolved! So her time has come to find her forever home!

Now to give you some details about Abigail.

Abigail was relinquished by her owners to the animal shelter when they had to downsize, so I am unable to give anyone any past information about her prior to when she was transferred to our rescue group.

Abigail loves people of all ages. However, she has a tendency to put everything in her mouth, so homes with children with small toys or homes with knick-knacks low to the ground are not going to be suitable for Abigail.

Abigail loves other dogs as well and would love to have a “friend” to play with. However, she would also be just as content to be the only dog in the household!

She absolutely loves sleeping in the big bed, loves sitting on the furniture and in fact will drape herself almost completely around your neck, chest or stomach when she sleeps or is relaxing with you. In other words, she is a love sponge!

Abigail demands 24/7 attention; more so than any other Cavalier that I have owned or fostered. In fact, if you are not giving her enough attention, she will bark until you do! Therefore, the forever home we will be considering for her will be one in which someone is home most of the day to interact with her, as well as a fairly active home to keep up with her craving for your love and attention! She's a high maintenance pup, but a real lover and delight to be around.

Abigail also loves to run. She will run laps around the property and never seems to tire of it. Even the snow did not slow her down! So Abigail will need a home with a decent size yard for running along with a secure fence.

There has not been a toy invented that Abigail does not like, from rope toys, to stuffed animal, balls, you name it and she will play with it! On the other hand, Abigail has her shy moments, especially when she is taken into a new environment.

If you have what it takes to be considered for sweet Abigail’s forever home, please email Lynette Cole at cole.143@osu.edu. This would include anyone that has inquired about her prior to 1/24/10. If you have already submitted an online application, you do NOT have to apply again, only email me.

Thank you!
