Ginger Spice in Harvard, IL |
||||||
Ginger Spice is a sweet little dog - she's just been adopted to the family below:)
Ginger was born in a commercial breeding facility and was used for breeding before she was given to rescue. She's a little shy, but oh so sweet. She loves to love you and be loved back. Ginger turned 4-years old in August and she is current on vaccines, is spayed and has had a dental. She could stand to lose a few pounds and would be at a good weight if she could lose about 4 lbs. Therefore, her new owner should be diligent to monitor her food intake and give her daily exercise. As a lot of Cavaliers are, she's pretty food motivated, so you must not over feed her (just like in people, it's not good to have the extra weight). But enough about that and more about this sweetheart's personality...Ginger gets along well with all people - young and old. She is also fine with other dogs and cats, but can easily be the only treasured pet since she's not especially playful or interactive so far with the other dogs in foster care. She'll be happiest having her person around much of the day.

She's a pretty mellow gal but sometimes gets spooked with strange noises and will bark. But if you call her name to distract her and ask her to come to you she will respond. Sometimes she seems to be a bit afraid of the television, and will go off into another room if it is on, but we're sure she'll become acclimated in no time (she just wasn't raised with televisions). Ginger is house trained and a quick learner. She loves to play with her toys, and will fetch a toy you throw for her. She likes to take her toys to her bed - probably thinking it is one of her puppies.
