Kaylee in Dunkirk, MD

Meet Kaylee being fostered in MD, a classic, endearing Cavalier girl...

Kaylee is a 4-year old precious Cavalier whose owner could not take care of her anymore and who wanted Kaylee to have a better life.

Kaylee has the knee and heart issues common to the breed, but is doing great and needs no treatment for either at this time, other than keeping her weight down.

She does have dry eye and an immune mediated disorder related to her eyes that require inexpensive medication (about $30 a month), as well as an owner around to give her drops several times a day. The veterinary ophthalmologist was pleased with Kaylee's progress. She indicated Kaylee may have a recurrence of her immune mediated eye problem many months down the road and then again maybe not, which would be great news.

All she wants are belly rubs and warm laps. She's a delightful, sweet, and friendly companion who enjoys all she meets.

Kaylee's foster dad says: "We've discovered Kaylee loves to chase toys, enjoys sleeping in my home office chair, will roll over for treats, and she has yet to meet a stranger. When she meets someone, she leaves me at once to go greet her new best friend. She gets on well with all our dogs and shows no aggression of any kind to man, woman, or beast.

IMHO she will return many fold any kindnesses shown her. She is a
pretty Cavalier, and she charms everyone she meets, me included:)".

We think Kaylee will be happiest in a home with a parent around much of the day (i.e. gone 4 or less hours at a time) and a physically fenced yard. She would be fine as the only dog, or with another friendly pooch. Kaylee's quiet demeanor would be better suited to a family without a lot of noise, hectic schedule or young children running in and out.
