Mickie in Runnells, IA

Meet the new boy in town...

Mickie is a 5-year old little boy who has come into rescue as a retired stud
dog. He is a delightful little guy with the sweetest personality. He is just learning that being social gets him all kinds of attention. He is very good with other dogs and is very interested in everything that happens around him. He is cuddly once is accustomed to you.

He is very smart and learned about the doggy door in just 20 minutes. Though just neutered, his indoor manners are close to perfect with supervision and a doggy door.

He has been debarked. He still barks but just air comes out. He 'barks'
when excited, and kitties make him very excited. He will need to learn that
being so interested in cats is not a proper gentleman.

He's had a dental and did lose 9 teeth, but his mouth is clean as a whistle now.

He loves to run outside in his fenced yard with his buddies, and comes
running as fast as he can when he comes back inside. He is more on the
short stocky side, but is not overweight - just perfect at 16 pounds.

Mickie does have a timid side, and will need calm, positive training. He would
excel at a positive based obedience class. He loves to be brushed and
combed, and is very patient. His previous owner indicated he had some
guarding issues with his food, but that hasn't been shown in his foster
home.
