Koby in Owasso, OK

This "farm" boy has come a long way since being with his foster family. He has worked hard doing chores around the barn getting plenty of exercise and has slimmed down very nicely. Koby has lost almost 8 pounds which wasn't an easy task for him, but with hard work and a strict diet he has done just great. Koby seems to be a much happier boy, and enjoys running in and out of the doggy door to hang out in the back yard.  Koby is ready for his next adventure, which hopefully will be getting adopted by a wonderful new family soon.

Koby is a delightful boy who is 8 years old. He’s the real thing—a little gentleman who knows what he wants, and who has the ability to adapt to different circumstances when necessary. Koby came from a “one-dog” home where he was loved and spoiled. He was the main attraction there, and was given the world by his parents. However, when his mom and dad began to have children Koby’s life slowly changed, and unfortunately he was no longer their priority.

Thankfully, the family contacted us to help Koby find his true forever home. Koby is now in a foster home that he shares with 4 foster sisters, and he is doing very well. He likes being in the back yard where he can play or just relax in the sun. He has also spent time with his older foster grandchildren, and loved the extra attention. On occasion Koby has visited the nursing home where his foster grandmother lives; he gave out lots of kisses there. He's a great companion.

This wonderful boy is loving and affectionate, and wants nothing more than to be right by your side. When he’s in your lap, Koby will lay his head on your chest, look up at you, and just gaze into your face. It’s as if he is sending you love with those big brown eyes.

Koby is up to date on vaccines and dental work and he is heart clear. Koby just loves to go on walks, which will assist him in keeping his weight down and in his and overall health.

He does have a big appetite and he loves food, so keeping Koby at a healthy weight will be important. Koby is so food oriented, that he can get way excited at meal time. He's improving in this area and learning that all good things come to those who wait, but he'll need more work on this. Being in a home with fewer pets may help. We've found feeding him in his crate is the way to go, and he happily zones out once he has his food bowl in front of him.

Due to numerous ear infections throughout his life, Koby is hard of hearing. He watches closely for direction from you, which is good. Since Koby can't hear well but is very curious about what's going on around him, he barks quite loudly at times. Over time he will learn that he doesn't have to be that vocal to get attention.

We believe Koby would feel more comfortable in a home with experienced dog people, and one where he'll get lots of attention. Homes with a fenced yard and without small children (since he wasn't raised with them) are most appropriate for this Blenheim boy.

If you believe that Koby is the right dog for your family, and you can provide the loving and attentive environment he needs, then we want to hear from you. Koby is a big boy with a big, delightful, personality, and is now ready for his forever home. We're going to miss this guy!

We invite you to complete an online application to adopt prior to calling Koby’s foster mom, Marla in Oklahoma. You can contact her at: 918/274-0408. Homes with fenced yards and within driving distance of Owasso, OK (Tulsa area) are preferred. Thank you!
