Donations Needed! Reese in Bellingham, WA

Donations Needed!

Look at that face! This charmer is 5 year old Reese, an earnest and loving little guy who arrived at Cavalier Rescue USA this month. While in foster care, we've observed that Reese has symptoms of Mitral Valve Disease and a neurological issue that is causing him pain in his feet and hind quarters. Though Reese is sensitive at times to touch, he still loves to snuggle in classic Cavalier fashion.

We believe Reese will feel better with proper medical diagnoses and care. An examination by a neurologist will enable us to better assess the cause of Reese's pain issues. He also needs his heart assessed by a specialist and appropriate meds prescribed to mitigate the coughing and shortness of breath that are characteristic of MVD. These veterinary specialists are expensive but their skills will greatly improve Reese's quality of life and enhance his prospects for finding a loving, forever home. If you can, please donate to Reese so that we can provide him this care. To help Reese, please click on the Donate button below or mail a check c/o Carolyn Stigler, 1345 Eagle Run Drive, Sanibel, FL 33957.

We will post Reese for adoption when his medical conditions have been addressed.

REESE UPDATE, 2-1-12 Reese went to a neurology specialist in Seattle for tests yesterday to determine the cause of his pain issues. The results indicate several possible causes and the doctor recommended treatment via oral medication therapy, i.e. non-surgical solutions. We will monitor Reese and hope the meds bring relief and comfort to this dear dog. I will keep you updated on his progress.

Next step: cardio assessment and administration of medication to treat Reese's heart condition.

Thanks to our donors for helping underwrite Reese's diagnostic tests and vet visits. If you can donate to Reese he would appreciate it.
