April and Callie in Franklin, TN
Here are the pups with their new family..,
April and Callie are the sweetest Cavalier King Charles Spaniels you will ever meet! Callie is 10-years-old and April is her daughter and 8-years-old. They are both precious Blenheims who are very bonded and will be adopted together. Callie likes to preen April and is a very attentive mom.
April is deaf and pays attention to Callie to show her what to do next. We are working with April on hand signals to let her know when it is time to come, eat, and stay. They both love treats and will immediately sit when they think there is a possibility to get one. Wherever one is, the other is close at hand to join in the activity.
Callie is very cuddly and would climb up inside of you if she could. She is so tiny at 11.8 lbs; she is like a warm croissant when she curls up in your lap. They are always on the move if you are and will be hot on your heals if you are not sitting. They love their people and just want to be in on the action.
Callie and April are expert at walking on a leash and should have a long walk everyday. They really enjoy it and they have a pep in their step while on their strolls. See the pups in action: Callie & April
They are also wonderful on car rides. They will stand by the car door and wait to be loaded up into their car seats. Once on the road, they will take a short nap or just watch out the window.
The girls are great with other dogs, cats and children. They are very easy going pups. They would do best with someone home most of the time and who will be able to give them a lot of attention.
April has a grade 4/6 heart murmur with a Stage B1 chronic Degenerative valve disease. She just had an echo and was taken off one medication. In six months, she will need to have another echo and if things continue to be stable at that point, she can be taken off the Pimobendan. She weighs 15.7 lbs and is at a good weight.
Callie has a preference to wet food as opposed to kibble. It will be important to supervise feeding time because she is a slower eater. April will gobble up Callie’s food if given an opportunity.
Both girls are current on vaccines and preventatives. They are also microchipped. While in rescue, both had their teeth cleaned and were spayed.
