Beau in Dallas, TX

Meet Beau, an adorable 8 year old Blenheim boy with the friendliest personality and the cutest little teddy bear face. Beau’s heart is overflowing with love, and he’s eager to share it with a family that will cherish him for the rest of his days.

Beau came into rescue due to his elderly owner no longer being able to provide for his needs. He is affectionate and loyal, wanting to stay close by your side throughout the day. He will even try to get in the shower with you if you will allow it! Beau is energetic for his age and enjoys going on walks, playing with balls, and being outdoors in the fenced yard where he can sniff to his heart’s content. When you’re ready to settle in for some relaxing moments, Beau is right there beside you, taking his place on the arm of the couch or the recliner. 

In great health, Beau is up to date on all his vaccinations, recently had a dental cleaning and a minor soft palate surgery to help his breathing. Beau is also microchipped. He is fully potty trained and knows how to use a doggy door whenever necessary. He will also bark at the back door if he decides he’d rather use the “big door” for yard access. At night, Beau sleeps peacefully in his crate but also would love snuggling at the foot of the bed if you don’t mind his snoring!   

Beau did exhibit some resource guarding of objects in his previous home. The foster has worked with him on this issue, and Beau has made significant progress. Given this history, however, it is best for Beau to be in a home without young children. 

Beau’s ideal home would include a securely fenced yard where he can explore freely. Beau is definitely happiest when he has companionship, so he would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time to provide the attention he adores. Although Beau gets along beautifully with other dogs, having another canine companion is not necessary for him to be content.
