Belle in Nashville, TN

Here is Belle with her new family…

This cutie’s name is Belle. She’s an incredibly sweet beautiful little black and tan girl that was pulled out of a situation with little to no human contact. We believe that in coming to rescue, this is her first experience out of the kennel. Because of her life before she was rescued, she’s very timid and shy with people, and needs to find a patient and understanding home that will give her the time and love that she needs to come out of her shell! Belle will go and hide whenever possible, so her fosters have been working diligently on getting her to trust the humans. You can tell that she wants to be loved, she will make random runs at you for love, but runs back away at the last minute. Belle is a flight risk because she is always on high alert for any sudden movement. A fenced yard would be necessary, and she still doesn’t know how to walk on leash.

While Belle’s incredibly timid around humans, she adores other dogs, and would be happiest with some furry brothers or sisters around the house to show her how to be a treasured pup! She gets along with both male and female dogs in her foster home, and loves to snuggle with all of them.

When she and her foster siblings are let outside together she blossoms into an excited and happy pup! She loves to get to trot around and play with them, and tries to follow the other dogs around the house as much as she can. She has just recently started to actually play with the others. This has helped her slowly begin to overcome her fear of the humans in the house as well, as she can see these other pups that love and seek attention from the people of the house. She is very treat motivated, and will do her happy dance with a few spins, come to you for a treat then dart away. Just recently she has started letting us rub her chin and touch her. She is learning.

Since coming to live with her foster family, Belle has gotten up to date on all her shots, has been spayed, had a dental and microchipped! She’s healthy as can be.

Belle is slowly getting more comfortable around her foster mom she loves her foster dad more, and even moves to snuggle with him more and more often! So with time, patience, love, and a bit of help from some furry friends, Belle will be able to gain the confidence to become a sweet and loving companion.  Belle needs a home where her new parents will push her to be comfortable around humans but also learn at her own pace, and have other pups so she can learn how to be a treasured family member.
