Bob in Okemos, MI

JUST ADOPTED!

Here is Bob with his new mom…

Hello world, I am Bob (Wrangler’s Bob to be exact)! I am a 6-year-old Blenheim boy FULL of life, love and affection. I was born on St. Patrick’s Day (3-17-18). The vet told me that I have an enlarged heart (diagnosed as dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM)) and a grade 3 heart murmur, but I am not letting that stop me from enjoying the love of a foster family and my new freedom outside of a breeding facility. (I came into rescue as a retired breeder.)

I am full of playful antics and polite energy, as I live life to its fullest. I finally discovered toys, so I have one in my mouth all the time. Fetching a ball is fun, but I can get distracted with falling leaves or the scent of a chipmunk. I am forever doing something that makes my family and others smile. My big eyes and full-body wags make everyone melt then say wonderful things to me. Yes, please whisper sweet nothings to me!

After coming into rescue, I quickly settled into living indoors. I am housebroken and recently neutered. I will have my teeth cleaned before adoption. I still wear my belly band as there are two other male dogs in the foster house and my foster mom thinks this is the best way to prevent marking in the home. I love the female Cavalier at my foster home, but I’m still learning where I fit in with the other males.

I am full of wags and will make little noises if anyone so much as looks my way. I make even more noises of contentment when petted, my ears are scratched or when sleeping with my family.

Here’s a big list of my life joys: Humans of all ages; Long walks/ runs especially thru the trails; Being outside, camping & exploring nature’s smells; Being in and around the water (in my life jacket) especially on a Kayak, stand-up board or a speed boat; Treats & home cooked food; Cuddling with the family; Car Rides; Riding around Home Depot in a shopping cart (as I am at eye level with all the people – so I get treats, petted & my picture taken!); and Doing anything that keeps me connected with my family.

I am afraid of fireworks and really hate being away from my family. Even though I have a heart murmur and serious heart condition, I don’t need to take medicine at this time. The vet said because I don’t show any symptoms of this condition, that I should keep having fun being a dog. But I should visit a vet regularly to keep monitoring this condition.

I would love to have an active and engaging forever family with someone home most of the day and a nice yard. I do not necessarily need a fenced yard especially if monitored while outside. I hope my new family will include me in all their travels & daily events. I want to be the center of their world. Could you please find a place in your heart and home to include me?
