Brody in Nashville, TN

JUST ADOPTED!

Here is Brody with his new family…

Brody is a darling, full-of-life tricolor Cavalier looking for his forever home. He will connect deeply with his new family, especially the ones he is most around. He is happy taking a walk outdoors, exploring or snuggling on the couch. He is almost five-years-old and was born March 20, 2018. We are so excited he will be able to celebrate his fifth birthday with a loving family of his own! He is certainly deserving of a birthday fit for a king!

Brody was brought to Cavalier Rescue USA by several Good Samaritans who wanted to get him into safe hands. We are thankful they entrusted him into our care.

He has the most soulful, sparkly amber-colored eyes. He certainly can melt hearts with them.

Brody is neutered and had five teeth pulled. He had minor ear and eye infections that have cleared up with medication. He currently has no heart murmur. Brody is up-to-date on vaccinations and preventatives. He is also free of heartworms and is microchipped.

Brody didn’t eat for the first few days after we started fostering him. Now he loves to eat! He gets kibble and treats, and loves cheese and turkey for special snacks. He takes his pills in a special cheese treat and loves a pup cup!

Brody is not fully housebroken yet but is working on it. We take him out in the back yard first thing in the morning to go potty – sometimes he will run back in, so we will do it again until he goes. He wears a belly band sometimes inside to keep from marking.

Brody is full of love, and he just wants to share it. He loves everyone he meets and shows them by running up to them and showing affection. He is very sweet and quite the snuggler. He does still have some separation anxiety, but we have seen tremendous improvement in just a few short weeks. He is happiest when he is near people. He really enjoys being around other dogs, too. He has been living with and learning from his foster brother, who is also a Tri-Colored Cavalier, and they bonded pretty quickly.

He’s still learning to leash walk, as he wants to stop and take in his surroundings. Given time, he will be great on leash.

Brody loves riding in the car and will even stop there to let me know he is ready for a ride. When we leave him alone, he cries only for a few minutes and settles down quickly. Brody also enjoys going for leisurely walks at the park in a stroller. A little spoiling is nice sometimes!

He sleeps in his dog bed and is free to roam around the 1st floor of the house during the day. When the weather is nice, we leave the back door open for him to go in and out into our fenced in yard. He will get in his crate sometimes as well, we always leave the door open for him. At night, he sleeps in his bed in our room. He is a little bit of a snorer, too!

Brody would do best in a quiet home with another dog where they are home most of the time. Another dog in the home is not a must, but he definitely thrives with people around.
