Buddy in Broken Arrow, OK

JUST ADOPTED!

Here’s a photo of Buddy with his new family.

Hi! I’m Buddy!

If you are looking for a fun friend, I’m right here!

At just a bit over one year old, there is a lot of puppy charm left in me. I make people laugh with my antics.

For example, I love to watch horses on TV. I fly around the room chasing them until they disappear behind the big screen… but I’ll also curl myself tightly against your elbow while you read a book.

I’m dark and handsome, but I have a pretty white blaze on my chest. Trust me when I tell you it makes me easier to find in the dark!

I also have this amazing mustache that peeps out under my extra-long, silky ears. My foster Dad says it’s the cutest of my cute features.

I’m a curious, happy fellow who loves to play, explore and learn new things.

I might seem a little overwhelmed in new situations, but if you are there to encourage me, I’ll be comfortable in no time. I pick up routines quickly.

Sometimes I do things a little differently from other dogs. If I got outside, for example, my foster Mom says I’ll come to “Bye, Buddy” much better than “Come.” It’s still the right decision, isn’t it …as long as I show up?

I’m looking for an active family who will include me in their adventures such as walks, hikes and training classes. I have “potential,” whatever that is.

You see, I came from what my foster parents call an “unfortunate situation.” They’ve spent the last few months building my confidence and getting me healthy. Now I’m ready to learn new behaviors and some tricks, please.

I had a skin condition that made me really itchy and ruptured eardrums from infections. After some time with a veterinary dermatologist and good medications, I’m now comfortable and I can hear a bag opening three rooms away.

I might need some special baths to keep my skin in good condition. I think of that as a spa day, because I come out feeling so refreshed!

I walk well with my harness and leash, but I’d like to sniff the trees and other interesting stuff for a minute.

Do you have a good supply of sticks for me to chew and carry around as my prize possessions? We could hunt for them together on our walks!

Update: We had a very qualified family waiting for the right dog for a long time. They met Buddy, and he was adopted immediately.
