Here is Charlie with his new family…
Charlie is a 2 year old Cavalier boy, born 05/23/2023. Charlie is dog and cat friendly and of course, loves his people.
Charlie came into foster because he was displaying resource guarding behaviors that concerned his family. In the months that he has been in foster, he has unlearned those negative behaviors. He needs to go to a home with an experienced owner, as he may revert back to resource guarding without rules and boundaries.
Charlie’s foster mom has 2 other Cavaliers and 2 cats. He loves them all and respects the cats’ space when they ask. He is a smart boy; he has learned to wear a snood for meals, sit and wait for permission to eat, learned sit, down, stay, kennel up, roll-over, wait (for a treat), and come! He responds well to guidance and pet parents that will keep him busy and challenged.
This boy came into foster weighing 24 lbs and he now weighs 18 lbs, which is a healthy weight. He is up to date on vaccines and is neutered. He is eating a commercial raw diet which is improving his coat and helping with his yeasty ears.
Charlie is super sweet, follows his foster mom all over the house, allows her to bathe and brush him and trim his nails. He likes to sleep pressed up against his foster mom, but he is also crate trained. He typically is kenneled when left for more than an hour or so, but has done fine out of the crate too.
Charlie runs around the yard and plays with other pups, but his activity level is adaptable. He is okay hanging around at home if you are.
This pup will do best with a loving owner home much of the time who is dog experienced and understands the need for rules and structure. A fenced yard is required. He will also be happiest with another friendly, playful pup in the home.
