Cooper in Virginia Beach, VA
Meet Cooper, in Virginia Beach, VA!
Cooper is a playful, funny, four-year-old commercial breeder stud release who’s finally ready to be loved — and to give lots of love in return. He gives the best soft kisses.

He spends his days close to his foster mom, who works from home, and enjoys hanging out with his canine foster brother. Cooper loves playing fetch and never turns down a squeaky toy or a good bone to chew. He’s an enthusiastic explorer of the fenced yard and is learning quickly to walk nicely on a harness — though walks are still at his pace, with plenty of time to sniff and take in the big, exciting world around him!

Cooper’s absolute favorite thing in the world is snuggling on the couch. He adores being near his people and will happily nap in your lap whenever he gets the chance.

Since leaving his puppy mill life behind, Cooper has experienced a lot of separation anxiety and feels most secure when he knows where his people are. He is crate-trained for very short periods, though he will bark and cry at first when you leave. At bedtime, he sleeps well in a crate kept beside your bed — if he can see you. Of course, his dream scenario is to snuggle up in the “big bed” with his humans if allowed. Cooper sleeps through the night and doesn’t need to go out until morning.

This handsome guy still has lots of puppy energy and will thrive with playtime, basic training, a fenced yard, and lots of cuddle time.

Cooper gets along wonderfully with his three-year-old foster brother and loves to chase him around the yard. His compatibility with cats is unknown. He’s a happy, tail-wagging sweetheart who’s great with kids of all ages and will make a wonderful addition to any family. Cooper will do best with a family that has another small dog.

Cooper is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. He weighs 28 lbs.
If you live within reasonable driving distance of his foster home and think Cooper might be the perfect fit for your family — he can’t wait to meet you!
