Dixon in Wakeman, OH

Update 10-20-24: We’ve received several promising applications for this pup so aren’t taking more for now. Thank you!

Hello everyone! My name is Dixon. I am a 2-year-old neutered Cavalier. I came into rescue due to my family getting a divorce. Things are a bit confusing for me right now with all the new changes in my life. Foster Mom says I am doing very well.

I am very friendly and playful. I enjoy toys, and I like chasing the ball when you throw it. I also like hard bones to chew on. Belly rubs and getting brushed are things that I enjoy as well. At mealtime I eat my food rather slowly as I savor each bite. Treats are delectable, and I enjoy them immensely!

I have a foster brother and a foster sister. We get along very well together. Often we are all piled up together on a dog bed, or the couch napping. I like cats and I do not chase them. I am very well house trained. I can be left alone for awhile and I do not misbehave. I am very excited to see you and hand out many kisses when you come back home. Recently I was at the vet and was given a clean bill of health.

I would love to have a home with a securely fenced-in yard and someone home much of the time to keep me company. I enjoy going outside and lounging in the sun and the shade. There are many interesting smells, and I like to take my time sniffing them all up. I also take my time when I go out to do my business.

Foster Mom here. Dixon is such a delightful Cavalier! He is calm, quiet and respectful of his foster siblings. He loves being around us and likes the attention we give him. Dixon rides well in the car. (He is a bit hesitant of getting in and out of the car by himself, and whines a little once inside.)

He is adjusting very well to his new routines. Dixon walks very well on a leash. He will sit if you tell him to when you leash and unleash him. We are working on the “wait” command when going out the door. Dixon loves to be right beside you. He will snuggle up tight when we are on the couch and drop off into snoozy land.

Dixon is up to date on his vaccines and he is also microchipped.
