Elvis in Chesterfield, MO
Here is Elvis with his new dad…

Yes, Elvis is alive and living a healthy life! He is disguised as a handsome 6-year-old, 20 pound Blenheim Cavalier born 10/8/19! He still has the bootie wiggle, soulful howl (really a husky bark!) and quick tail thumping moves! He is waiting in Chesterfield, MO for the special family to “Love Him Tender”.

Elvis has an endearing personality as he becomes a favorite of all who meet him. He is friendly with his three foster siblings and several cats. He has had no guarding issues but will steal other pups food if given a chance. Of course, that seems to be a Cavalier trait! He sleeps in a large comfy crate but would be happy sleeping with his family also. His food (Fromm Salmon and Veg) is presented in his crate also. When his foster mom leaves the house, he is free in the kitchen area with the other pups. Most of the day he follows his foster mom and other pups around. He often wants to be on his foster mom’s lap, next to her on the chair or couch or at her feet.

Elvis is learning to walk on a leash and navigate stairs. Potty training is about 85% with opportunities to go outside about every 2 hours. He knows his name and is learning “sit”. Car rides with a safety harness are a favorite!

Since coming to Cavalier Rescue USA, Elvis has been neutered, microchipped, treated for an ear infection, had a cyst on his tail removed and dental cleaning with 26 extractions! He has been groomed to a short length due to intake mats etc. His coat has already improved in luster and health. He is also on monthly heartworm and flea and tick preventatives. In addition, weekly ear flushing is recommended to keep ears healthy. No other medications are necessary.

He has the most soulful eyes that help him get a few more treats! He has been exposed to many adults, teens and preteens. He is affectionate and has been learning routines from the other pups. Elvis would thrive with a family member home most of the time, a safe, fenced yard and family commitment to continue training.
