Felix in Loveland, CO

Felix with his forever family!

Felix is a 10-month-old, neutered, tricolor Cavalier born on 11/10/2023. He came to rescue as an owner surrender. He is a very energetic puppy. Felix loves meeting people and dogs. Walks are so much fun with him! His leash manners are coming along but need practice.

Felix enjoys the company of another sweet, active dog that loves to play and is a similar size. He is great with older, well-behaved children and loves to play fetch. So a home with such a child would be a bonus for Felix.

Felix loves and thrives on attention from anybody. He will enjoy a home where he is given much interaction time, companionship, and patience for training an energetic puppy.

Felix gets along well with the foster home’s middle-aged Cavalier boy and Miniature Schnauzer girl. He loves to be with them all the time but can annoy  them at times with his high energy level. Snuggling with the other dogs for naps is a favorite time for him.

He is house trained and will go to the door and whine to let you know he needs a potty break.

Felix is working on some simple commands at his foster home. He does well with “sit” and “come”. He will need to continue to work on puppy training and would benefit from an obedience class with his forever person – once they have had a few weeks to bond.

Felix is learning what is okay to chew on and what he should not chew on. His puppy curiosity could get him in trouble at times without supervision. But he is a very smart puppy and really wants to please so training comes easily for him.

Felix has a larger size frame for a Cavalier and weighs about 23 pounds. His ideal weight would be two pounds lighter. He does love to eat so his food should be measured. He has a solid frame and is a healthy puppy and had a clean bill of health from the vet at his wellness checkup.

Felix does well traveling in a car. He is vocal with excitement for a bit but settles down within a few minutes. He has traveled with his foster family on camping trips that are an hour- and-a-half one way. Felix loves camping and hiking. He is very curious about his surroundings and loves exploring his environment.

He loves to chase squirrels and grasshoppers with the resident dogs in the backyard. Felix can be a poop eater, so the yard should be clean up frequently. During foster care, this did happen a few times.

Felix loves to snuggle in a chair or on the couch. He is definitely a puppy who loves attention from everyone. He is a lover boy who has a heart shaped black patch on his right side to prove it.
