Furby in Tallahassee, FL

Hi, my name is Furby. That’s short for cute fur ball cause that’s what everyone says I look like! I’m really just a 17 pound tricolor, 5 year old Cavalier looking for someone to love and play with me forever.

See, I was part of a growing family with babies and they couldn’t keep me anymore so my owners found a caring, fun foster home for me to live in until they can find another family that has time to spend loving, playing  and taking care of me for the rest of my life. All I really want is to give love and be loved. Oh, did I forget to mention that I also need someone who likes to play ball, tug-of-war and cuddle? I play fetch and bring the ball back for you to throw, please! And, YES, I’m a very good cuddler.

I am happy to sleep in my crate but would love to sleep in the big bed with my family. I’m not a barker nor have I had any accidents in my foster families home. I’m happy following my other foster family dogs to “go” outside so I’d love to have a fenced in back yard.

The vet says I’m healthy overall but need to lose a few pounds.  If you could help me, my ideal weight would be around 14lbs (I weigh 17 lbs now). I’ve been told that I’m a slow, picky eater and used to eat in my crate because I guarded my food, probably because I needed my teeth hurt. I recently had a dental and unfortunately for me;  6 extractions, but I can eat the same good stuff. Now that I’ve been living with my foster family, they feed me with their other dogs and I don’t try to guard my food at all. I think I’m happier without young children trying to take my food or bothering me, either.

Even though I’ve got a short haircut, my coat is super furry and when it finally grows out again, I’ll be even more adorable! My foster mom says I really like to be brushed regularly so I don’t get mats in my thick soft fur, especially my ears.

Basically, I’m all good to go to a new forever home and can’t wait to be part of a loving family again. I’m really a happy, carefree guy who just wants to make you happy too. I’ve had all my shots, have a micro chip, on flea and heartworm prevention and am neutered.

If you are a family that is home most of the day, wants to play and snuggle with a cute cavalier fur ball then, I’m your guy. Doggy siblings would be okay but no young children, please, and a fenced in backyard is a plus.

My foster family lives in Tallahassee so if you are within a reasonable driving distance to us, and interested in adopting me, please fill out an application (if you haven’t already) and then email Sue Wesson, Florida Coordinator, suewesson@snet.net, to let her know.
