Happy in Woodbridge, VA

JUST ADOPTED!

Here is Happy with his new family…

Hi everyone! My name is Happy because, well, I’m happy, like all the time! I’m a 9-year-old male. I am a breeder surrender since I’m a little bit older now. I lived in an environment where there were lots of dogs and horses! It was a lot of fun running around. I might miss all that excitement, but you would never know it. I love being with my foster mom and her two Blenheim boys. I feel like I am a part of the pack, but what I really love is one on one time with my foster mom. When we go outside, all the neighborhood kids come over and give me hugs and pet me. I am in heaven. I just sit still and bask in all their attention. One of the girls and I are “besties” she says.

I think most people don’t enjoy going to the dentist, and neither do I! I had to have some teeth removed and now my tongue hangs out of my mouth. Not all the time though! I was pretty self-conscious about it at first, but everyone seems to think it’s cute! It makes people smile. If I say so myself, I’m pretty darn cute. I’m a trim 18 lbs. I am neutered and up to date on my shots. My foster mom thinks I might be deaf since I don’t respond to my name a lot of the time. I had ear infections when she picked me up so Doc thinks that is a part of my hearing issue. I’m in the process of being house broken. I’m doing a great job! Every time I do “my business” outside, my foster mom gets so excited! I get a tiny treat and a big hug. It makes me happy to make her happy. I guess my name suits me.

I am learning new things all the time. I am going up and down the stairs now – but carefully. I took a tumble when I first got to my new temporary digs, so I am slow on the steps going down. I am curious about the toys she keeps trying to get me to play with and balls she throws. Not sure why she keeps on throwing them at me though! Just the other day, I found a Mickey Mouse toy under the bed that I rather enjoy nibbling on but it’s not like I’m not obsessed with it or anything. If one of the other two guys want to play with it, that’s okay, I know how to share.

I don’t want to brag but I am excellent on a leash! I don’t pull, and for the most part, I walk beside my foster mom. She likes to tell my foster bros they should watch and learn. At first, I was scared but now you should see me prance! I really enjoy short walks. But, who am I kidding? My favorite thing in the world to do is nap. What makes me Happy, is taking a nappy.

I like dogs, cats, and kids. I think I would make a nice addition to a home where I can be a loving companion and just hang out. I love to be near my person and get my winks in.

If you want to adopt me, please fill out the online application if you haven’t already and then email Diane Lombardo at cavalierrescueusamdwv@gmail.com so she knows of your interest. Thank you!
