Harley in Carmel, IN

JUST ADOPTED!

Here is Harley with her new family…

Harley is a six-year-old Ruby female that was surrendered from a breeder. She spent her first 6 years having puppies. She is a sweet as she can be. When she first arrived at her foster’s home, she was timid and didn’t really know how to be a household pet. Now she’s just one of the doggy gang at her foster home and loves her “pet” life.

She is friendly and very calm. She rarely barks, only a few times at the resident cats. Most of the time she just ignores the cats. She is a go with the flow kind of gal that is always happy.

She has learned how to walk on a leash and does well with a harness. She loves taking afternoon walks with her foster mom and resident dogs. She is learning how to heel and making good progress.

When Harley arrived at her foster home, her ears were all matted. She had them shaved to get rid of all the mats, and now her hair is growing back nicely.

She is hard of hearing or deaf. We are not sure how much she can hear. At times it appears that she can hear some loud noises such as a tornado siren, but does not respond to voices very well. She has been working on some basic hand signals such as “come” and “go potty”. She is a hard sleeper and because of her hearing does not wake up when someone comes in the room. She also snores very loudly. The lack of hearing does not seem to slow her down one bit. She still does everything along with her resident dogs. She is not bothered by other dogs and has recently started playing with the resident dogs. She would be just fine as a single dog in a home or part of a pack.

Harley does well with older children. She has not been around younger children. Her favorite activity is napping on her foster mom’s lap. She loves sleeping! She would be ideal in a home with someone home most of the time so that she can sit on the lap of her favorite person all day.

She absolutely loves being outside. She enjoys rolling in the grass and sniffing the ground. She gets so excited when it’s time to go out for potty breaks. She is housebroken but does have accidents occasionally. It does take her a few minutes to go potty because she is so excited about rolling on the ground!

She loves sleeping in her crate and goes in on her own. She is a low energy girl, so having a fenced in yard is not a must. She does well with daily walks and potty breaks as her exercise. She is spayed and chipped and is up to date on all her vaccines.

Harley is a joy to be around and doesn’t know a stranger. She has gotten to know all her neighbors, and everyone loves her! She happily accepts pets and cuddles from everyone and is a very mellow gal. Just give her a lap to sleep on and she is happy all day long. She will be such a blessing to your family.
