Hope in Grove City, OH

JUST ADOPTED!

Here is Hope with her new family…

Hope is a 4-to-5-year old petite Blenheim. She came into rescue as an owner surrender when they were unable to keep her due to life changes. The owner only had Hope for a few months and it is believed that Hope may have been a puppy mill mom in her previous life.

Hope is a very sweet and quiet girl. She likes to follow her humans around the house and snuggle in their laps any chance she can get. Hope gets along well with everyone. She is eager to meet new people and animals. Her foster home has two cats and two children that she does really well with. Hope does experience a little separation anxiety when her humans leave her home in her crate but settles fairly quickly. We believe Hope would do best in a home where someone is home a good majority of the day.

Hope does well sleeping in a dog bed beside the big bed at night, but she also enjoys cuddling up to her human in the big bed. Hope is currently learning basic commands. She now knows the command sit and we are working on down, stay, and shake. Hope is also mainly house trained. Although she has had just a few small accidents with being let out every several hours, she gladly goes outside. Hope enjoys roaming freely in the securely fenced backyard. She is adventurous and likes to explore, and also likes walks.

Hope is food motivated so treats are great for helping with training. Hope would do best being fed on her own. Although she is not aggressive, she doesn’t like when other animals try to eat her food. She doesn’t mind her humans around her food while eating, just other animals.

Hope underwent her initial veterinary intake, weighing in at 13.6 lbs and was declared clear of any parasites, illness, or heart condition. She did, however, undergo a small hernia repair, spay, and dental losing 15 teeth. Hope is currently recovering well from her surgeries. Hope is vaccinated and on a flea, tick, and heartworm preventative.
