Joey in Seattle, WA

Just Adopted!

Joey is an extremely happy little dog and loves to be as close to you as possible. He’s a snuggle bug and has earned extra naps being (almost) 12 years old. He is still able to go on long walks and loves swimming.

Joey’s owner was no longer able to care for Joey because his own health was declining. He wanted Joey to have a loving new home and asked for our help.

Joey loves walks and retrieving toys, and he follows commands well. He’ll come up to you to put his nose and whiskers on your legs to remind you he’s there and to love on you. He enjoys naps as any senior dog would but will be right next to you (underfoot) when he’s awake. Joey loves to play with his Cavalier foster brother and other dogs, though at times he can be overzealous when meeting other dogs.

Upon coming into rescue, Joey was diagnosed with a grade 5/6 heart murmur. He saw the cardiologist and had a full work-up, and he’s now on two medications that cost around $60/month. He’s doing great and will need to continue seeing the cardiologist every 3-6 months. He’s otherwise a healthy guy and in great shape, especially after losing several pounds over the last few months. He had a recent dental where he lost all of his teeth, but that doesn’t slow him down! He still loves to eat and have treats.

Like any Cavalier, Joey is just looking for someone to love him and someone he can love. He would be a great addition to any family and is looking for the right one to call his own.
