Polly and Biscuit in Charlotte, NC

Adoption Pending!

Polly and Biscuit are lovable companions who were given to rescue when their family could no longer care for them.

This pair is clearly bonded, but adapt well to other dogs (and cats). Biscuit is a social butterfly and greets all new people with licks, while Polly is a little more reserved but is clearly in charge. Both are well behaved and have had little problems with house breaking, but can use some work on traditional training (sit, down, etc.).

Polly is an incredibly gentle lady, who is happiest when sitting on a lap, using Biscuit as a cushion or perched on the back of a couch surveying her domain. She doesn’t hold back on affection and loves to be around her people and Biscuit. She enjoys walks and drives in the car. Polly was born 9-9-09, so soon to be 8 years old.

She loves to be near her people and like most Cavaliers, follows them around. She adjusts to new situations very quickly and is friendly and confident when meeting people and other dogs. Polly is very quiet and hardly ever barks, but when she barks her voice is surprisingly deep!

Biscuit, who is 7 years old, was born 1-26-10. He has a playful spirit and enjoys walks, playing with Polly, fetch and sleeping next to his people on the couch, often nudging them to get extra attention. Biscuit loves nothing more than to lie beside his people, roll on his back and get a belly rub. When he is especially happy he will give a little kiss on the cheek to let you know he is having a good day.

Biscuit is more independent than Polly, but that doesn’t mean he loves you any less. He also adjusts quickly to new situations, people and dogs. His face lights up when he sees his friends and he will joyfully romp across the room to be in your arms. He is a gentle soul and always eager to please. From time to time he barks a bit; and sometimes it’s difficult to figure out the reason!

Polly and Biscuit are neutered/spayed, crate-trained, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Biscuit has an advanced heart murmur and is taking Benazepril and Pimobendan. Like many middle aged Cavaliers, he also has limited hearing. Polly has early signs of a heart murmur and is taking Benazepril as a preventative. She recently lost many teeth during her dental, but this hasn’t hampered her a bit.

These pups do well with other dogs and are loving and playful companions. They will be happiest with someone at home much of the time and a fenced yard. Both dogs are well behaved when fed and rush to their crates on command for meals and bedtime. Both have been actively groomed; but would look great when their traditional long Cavalier fur grows back!
