Donations Requested! Pippi in IN

Pippi is one-year-old Cavalier from a breeding operation, and was brought into Rescue by a volunteer who was alerted to her situation.

Pippi is a wonderful, special little Ruby girl who needs significant repair surgery on both back legs. She has Grade 4 (worst Grade) medial patella luxation in both knees. The reconstruction surgery is quite involved and very expensive, even with the good fortune of discounts provided to the Rescue. Each knee will be operated on separately, with approximately 6-8 weeks of recovery between surgeries. The picture below shows how this condition causes her to walk.

Pippi was named by the Rescue after Pippi Longstocking, and the name fits her perfectly! She is a red-headed little girl (8 pounds full grown!), playful, and affectionate. She charms absolutely everyone, and loves every person and dog she has ever met while in foster. She is wonderfully sweet, and seeks out constant cuddles. As you can see in the pictures, she is missing the outer structure of her left ear, which happened at some point at the breeder’s. This is a purely cosmetic injury, and her foster family thinks it just adds to her unique charm.

Pippi will be available for adoption after recovery from her surgeries and we are only taking donations to help her get surgery at this time (not applications). Please consider donating to help this amazing little girl have a healthy, happy, pain-free future. To contribute, please click on the Donate button below.

If you prefer to donate via check, please send to Cavalier Rescue USA, c/o Carolyn Stigler, 1345 Eagle Run Drive, Sanibel, FL 33957. Thank you!
