J.R. and Daisy in Dallas, TX

JUST ADOPTED!

Here are the pups with their new family…

J.R. and Daisy are the sweetest senior bonded pair you will ever meet. J.R. is 12-years-old and Daisy is 11-years-old. Both came into foster care when their mom passed away. They were well taken care of until their mom got sick. Upon coming into rescue they needed some care and they are now ready for their forever home.

J.R. is a blenheim and weighs 30 pounds and Daisy is a tricolor and weighs 20 pounds. The vet said they are both at a healthy weight. They are up to date on their vaccinations, microchipped, on heartworm preventative, and had recent dentals.

Even though Daisy is a senior dog, she does not look or act like it. She loves playing with kids and will still chase a ball (but will not bring it back). Her favorite spot is on your lap any time you are sitting. If she wants you to do something, she will let you know with a bark.

Daisy has a stage B2 heart murmur and takes heart medication twice a day. She has a hernia that does not bother her and the vet advised to not do surgery. She also has dry skin that has gotten better but is still a bit flaky. We have a good shampoo that is helping and it will need to be continued.

J.R. loves to sit outside and enjoy the sun and take leisurely short strolls in the neighborhood. He also loves to cuddle on the couch and belly rubs. J.R. cannot get onto the couch by himself, so we are trying to teach him how to use a step. He will give lots of kisses once by your side or on your lap.

J.R. has a tumor on his back leg that cannot be removed. He is on a pain medication 3 times a day that really helps him. He is still happy and full of life.

J.R. and Daisy live for treats and do not miss anything happening in the kitchen. They are happiest when they are with people. Neither one of them know a stranger and they will wag their tails until people stop to pet them. Both are great with older children and they look around the house to see what they are doing.

J.R. and Daisy are great with other dogs. They will do best in a loving family, no matter the makeup of the family. They sleep great in a crate at night but would also be happy if you let them sleep on their own beds next to yours. They need a secure fenced yard to explore and someone who is ready to show them lots of love and affection. They would do best in a home where someone is home most of the day, but they can also be left for a few hours.
