ADOPTION PENDING!
Are you ready to give a young boy a fresh start on a happy life? If so, Kona would love to meet you!

Kona is a 16 month old, Blenheim boy, born 12-25-2021. Yes, he’s a Christmas gift! Kona came into rescue from a less than ideal beginning. He spent a lot of his former life in a crate. Consequently, he does not like being confined and he wants to explore the world like a puppy. Kona does sleep peacefully in an x-pen at night but I think he would love to snuggle in a big bed with his forever people.

Kona’s ideal forever home would have people home as much as possible, very little crate time if any, and another young playful dog. He gets along well with his foster pack, including a 5 month old Cavalier puppy. He has not been exposed to cats or young children. A fenced yard is not necessary for Kona. As he is still learning about the world, he will put anything in his mouth. We have been taking him out on leash most of the time because of this. He does enjoy running and chasing when off leash in the fenced yard.

Kona is reliably housebroken. He was recently neutered, which eliminated his previous humping behavior. He is microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and on a heartworm preventative. He is a healthy 13 pounds. Best of all, he is heart and knee clear!
Kona loves Nylabones and playing with soft, stuffed toys. However, he should be supervised with soft toys so he can’t rip them and swallow the stuffing.

Because he was confined a lot as a young dog, Kona is fearful of many common household sights and sounds. He has reacted to the vacuum, can opener, food processor and blender with barking. After use, he has sniffed the offending item with the rest of the pack and is becoming less reactive. He is still, however, a barker and not suited to apartment life.

Kona has two speeds, full speed and cuddly calm. He will gladly curl up and watch tv or read a book with his person. If you can give Kona the new start he deserves, please fill out an online application and email Sherry Morgan regarding your interest at morgans817@sbcglobal.net
