Meet Lady Godiva — the sweetest 8-year-old Blenheim Cavalier (born 5/1/2017) with a gentle soul, a loving heart, and a true appreciation for life’s cozy comforts. Lady came into our care after her beloved owner passed away, and she’s now patiently waiting for another chance at a forever family to love.

Lady adores affection. She’s happiest when being petted, having her belly rubbed, or snuggling close in your arms. With her calm, low-key personality, she spends much of her day enjoying peaceful naps, but she still loves a bit of fresh air and a few short strolls. She walks beautifully on a leash and does the cutest happy dance whenever she sees her harness.

She does wonderfully with other dogs and would truly thrive in a home with another Cavalier companion to share her relaxed, easygoing lifestyle. Lady has not yet been observed around cats.

Comfort is very important to Lady — soft beds and cozy couches are her favorites. She gets so comfortable she will give out quite the snore. She is not a fan of crates as she does think of herself as more of a lady than a dog. She is house trained and does best on a consistent routine. While she doesn’t signal when she needs to go outside, regular potty breaks every few hours help set her up for success. She does just fine when left home alone for a few hours.

Lady weighs about 24 pounds and would benefit from shedding a few pounds to stay in tip-top shape. She is spayed, microchipped, current on core vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. While in foster care, she also received a dental cleaning. She has a very small growth on her right eye that does not bother her, and her veterinarian does not recommend treatment. Lady does have some hearing loss. An echocardiogram revealed a Grade B2 heart murmur, and she has been started on Vetmedin. She’s also been itchy with seasonal spring allergies and been getting some allergy meds. Thankfully, Lady takes all her daily medications like a champ and thinks most of them are treats!

Lady Godiva is a tender-hearted, loving companion who will bring warmth, comfort, and quiet joy to the right home.
