Lady in Oklahoma City, OK

Lady is a 4 ½ -year-old Black and Tan Cavalier. She came to rescue through a good Samaritan who got her from a large breeding facility.  She lived in a crate most of her life.  Despite this, she is remarkably a lover girl! She is happiest when she is on your lap or near you. She is not a fan of her crate, as she wants her people to be in her sight or she wants to sit on a lap.

Lady has had a good check up from a veterinarian and is healthy and has good structure and heart health. She did have ear infections and one ear drum that had burst. She is being treated and will require further follow-up. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She had a dental and is microchipped.

Lady is understandably adjusting to home life. She wants to be loved and cared for and loves her people. She is definitely a Velcro dog. She is working on house training. She requires that you go outside with her as she seems to fear that she will be left alone outside. She will require patience and consistency to learn trust and house training.

The best home for Lady is one without other dogs. She is protective of her space and doesn’t like other dogs to intrude. She hasn’t been around cats or children but is just fine with chickens! She is not accustomed to a leash, so will require training.

Lady would love to be with a retired family or a someone who  spends a lot of their time at home. She requires a securely fenced backyard. Lady insists on being on the furniture in a place she deems safe where she can see you. If you want true companionship and a dog that loves you so much she always wants you near, Lady is your dream dog! You will never be alone as she follows you everywhere.
