Lucky in Bethesda, MD
Update 6-22-22: We have received several good applications for this pup so aren’t taking more for now. Thank you!
To the lucky person who adopts Mr. Lucky: Get ready to be adored! Lucky is a super affectionate 5-year old Blenheim Cavalier who wants nothing more than to be by your side, in your lap, or curled up next to you in bed. He blends in well with other dogs in the household without trying to be the top dog and enjoys playing with them. He is smart, obedient, very well-mannered and fully house trained. Not a single accident while in foster care.
Lucky came into rescue because the previous owner’s commitments to job and school made it difficult for him to spend time with Lucky. Since Lucky spent much of his time on his own, he came into rescue experiencing separation anxiety. However, his foster Mom works from home. As a result, Lucky’s fear of being alone and his anxiety symptoms have greatly diminished. Lucky would undoubtedly be best suited to a new owner who is either retired or works from home and who can give him the companionship he needs. A fenced back yard would definitely be a plus.
Lucky is very healthy, with no heart murmur or other chronic condition, although, at 33 pounds, he needs to lose some weight. A new owner who is able to get Lucky’s weight down with daily walks and a healthy diet would be preferred. The new owner should also be prepared to brush Lucky’s coat frequently since he does shed. Lucky is not accustomed to being crated, and he has enjoyed full access to his foster Mom’s house — including luxuriating on furniture and the bed. Full disclosure: he snores gently (which the foster Mom finds sweetly soothing)!
