Lucy in New Hope, PA

JUST ADOPTED!

Here is Lucy with her new mom…

Looking for a way to save money on your heating bills this winter? Lucy, a friendly, easygoing 7-year-old Cavalier born 5/28/2015, is ready to snuggle in next to you wherever you are. On your favorite chair to watch TV? She’ll take the side “slot”position. She would love to tuck in next to you in bed, too, though she is content to sleep in a crate at night in her foster home. She occasionally snores. Lucy came into rescue after retiring from breeding, and her foster family reports that from Day 1, she has been a Level-10-Velcro Cavalier.

Since arriving at her foster home, Lucy has been spayed, had a dental with several teeth removed, and had her cardiac evaluation. She has Stage B1 heart murmur but does not require medication at this time. She will need her heart health monitored, and it will be helpful to keep her weight at its current level of 18 lbs.

Lucy loves food and will try to eat her foster siblings’ meals, so she needs to eat in an area separated from other dogs or be monitored. She gets along very well with her three Cavalier and two feline siblings. She can be a little aggressive when taking a treat so her foster mom is teaching her “easy.”

Lucy has been consistent with her potty habits after having a few accidents when she first came into rescue. She goes out quite often throughout a day.

Car rides, baths and being brushed are a-ok with this little lovebug. Lucy adores light chinny-chin scratches. She walks well on a leash after she gets going. At her foster home she is accustomed to having a fenced yard, and that would be ideal in her new home. She must not be allowed off leash outside the fence or she is off to the races, possibly doing one of her favorite things, trying to sniff out moles!
