Meet Lula (Azula), a spirited 1-year-old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel born 2/15/23. Lula has a heart full of life and a playful energy that brightens any room. This little bundle of joy is as vivacious as they come, and she adores spending time with her foster family, especially her furry foster brother. Lula gets along great with other dogs and even cats, making her the perfect companion for a multi-pet household.

Lula is a true princess at heart and absolutely adores being the center of attention! Whether she’s lounging on a pile of soft blankets or sitting proudly on the couch, she loves to be treated like royalty. Lula thrives when she’s surrounded by love and affection, and she’ll happily soak up all the attention you can give her. In her ideal home, she’ll be pampered and doted on, just the way she likes it! While she enjoys the comfort of sleeping in the big bed, she’s crate trained and settles down happily at night, in fact she loves to put herself to bed.

A lover of adventure, Lula thrives on daily walks and eagerly joins her foster family on 2 to 3-mile outings. After her adventures, she’s all about snuggling on the couch, receiving belly rubs, and enjoying treats. 

Lula’s early life remains a bit of a mystery, but it’s clear she didn’t receive the affection and care she deserved. As a result, she’s cautious about sharing her prized possessions and is working on overcoming resource guarding behaviors with the help of her trainer. She’s made great strides, responding positively to trade-offs with high-value treats. Lula does best with gentle, happy voices and positive reinforcement. She is sure to be a success with consistency, love, and some patience. 

Lula LOVES kids, but because of her occasional bursts of guarding, a family with children over the age of 5 years old would be ideal. The perfect family will need to understand Lula’s tendency to guard what she considers “her treasures” and work with her on this. Kids who understand the importance of respecting Lula’s space and her need for patience when it comes to sharing toys and treats would help her thrive in her forever home. Lula is learning to share, but it’s a process, so a family willing to guide her through this with love and understanding would be just right!

Lula is still very much a puppy at heart, and like any curious youngster, she loves to explore the world with her mouth! Whether it’s socks, shoes, or anything she can find, Lula’s playful nature means she’ll need a family that can keep an eye on her and guide her with gentle reminders. With a little supervision, she’ll learn what’s safe to chew and what’s off-limits. Her curiosity is just part of her charm, and with the right boundaries, Lula’s zest for life will bring lots of fun and laughter to her new home!
