Here is Lulu with her new family…

Meet Lulu! Months after being adopted, Lulu’s family made the difficult, but selfless, decision to surrender her to rescue. Their life circumstances had changed significantly, and they could no longer give this sweet girl the attention she deserved.

Instead of leaving her alone for extended periods, they lovingly entrusted her to us to find a home better matched to her playful and affectionate nature.

Lulu is now ready to find her perfect, energetic match.

Lulu is a healthy, happy 19-pound Cavalier mix with a heart full of love and a cheerful nature. From the moment she arrived in her foster home, she fit right in, eager to make friends, and ready to share affection with everyone. Lulu has the soft eyes and sweet expression of a Cavalier, along with a playful spark that keeps her days bright and busy. Her unique coloring and prominent ears add to her charm.

At her vet exam, Lulu received a very healthy report: her teeth are great, heart, patellas and hips all in good shape! She is current on vaccinations and flea control. The vet discussed her age re-estimation based on Lulu’s excellent dental health, indicative of a younger age (approximately one to one-and-a-half years), since her prior owner thought she was about two-and-a-half years of age.

A model houseguest, Lulu is reliably housetrained and adapted quickly to her foster home. She’s a calm and loving companion, happy to nap or play quietly with her toys. She gets along beautifully with her Cavalier and Papillon foster sisters, and is content to relax quietly with her toys nearby while her foster Mom works.

She sleeps soundly all night and wakes up ready for a day of adventure and abundant cuddles with her family.

Mealtime is one of Lulu’s favorite parts of the day. She has a healthy appetite, and eagerly awaits her food with polite enthusiasm. She also enjoys daily walks and is learning good leash manners. Lulu greets everyone she encounters with a friendly tail wag and that signature Cavalier charm.

Due to her high prey drive, Lulu needs a home without cats and a securely fenced yard where she can safely run and explore. Lulu is wonderful with young children.

Lulu thrives on companionship and needs a home where she isn’t left alone for long periods. She would love to be an active part of a family’s daily life. Her perfect match would be someone who enjoys taking walks, engaging in playtime in the yard, and including her in outings and activities. Families within a comfortable driving distance of Oxnard are preferred to facilitate introductory visits.
