Maggy May in Biloxi, MS
Here is the pup with her new family…

Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Maggy May, a sweet 2 ½ year-old female Cavalier mix with a big personality. My former family made the difficult decision to surrender me when they could no longer provide the time and attention that I needed.

At my initial vet visit after coming into rescue, they discovered that I had severe bladder stones. I had surgery to remove them and I’m feeling so much better now. I am on a prescription diet and will need to stay on this special diet to keep the bladder stones from coming back. I was also quite overweight when first coming into rescue. But staying active in my foster home has helped me get the weight off. I am spayed and up to date on my vaccinations and heartworm prevention.

Moving on to the fun stuff, I’d love to tell you about some of my hobbies. If you have a tennis ball or squeaky ball, I will fetch it as many times as you can throw it. I will also chase anything in the yard that moves – leaves and lizards and squirrels, among some of them. Speaking of squirrels, I am easily distracted at times, so I will need a fully fenced yard to keep me safe.

I get along well with dogs of all sizes and ages. But I would really like to have another active and fun-loving fur sibling my size to play with and keep me company. I have lots and lots of energy and enjoy playtime. My foster mom calls me “Wiggle Worm” because my entire body wiggles when I get excited. Then I will give her a friendly, gentle growl to let her know I’m ready to play.

As much as I love to play, do you know what my favorite thing in the world is? It’s snuggling on the couch with my humans. Although I’m on the larger size for a Cavalier, I still love to lay on your lap. And ideally, I would love to have someone home much of the time to spend quality time with me.

I am housebroken and know some basic commands like sit, lay down and stay. I’m a smart girl, so I would be willing to learn other commands if you are willing to teach me.

If you love snuggling and playtime as much as I do and think you would be a good fit, please submit an application, if you haven’t already done so. Then reach out to TJ Mareno at Rescue4Life01@gmail.com to let her know of your interest. Applicants within a reasonable driving distance will be considered.
