Here is Maisie with her new family, just in time for the holidays!

Say hello to amazing Maisie! Maisie is a gorgeous six-month-old female Black and Tan Cavalier who came into rescue from a commercial breeder.

Maisie is very social and loves to say hello to anyone while on a walk, at a store, or any other place where she encounters new people. In her foster home, she has truly enjoyed being part of the pack with the two resident Cavaliers.

She gets along well with her foster sisters and humans, both adults and children. She is also not shy, and enjoys greeting visitors at her foster home with excitement.

Maisie enjoys going on walks and car rides, but most of all, she enjoys going on adventures with her family where she can run, chase, and explore parks, fields and trails. She is an active puppy!

Maisie sleeps in her crate, however she would much prefer sleeping in the big bed with her new family. She loves being near her humans and dog family at all times, so don’t be surprised if she figures out how to get on the bed on her own.

Maisie is learning how to be a house dog. She will stand by the door and bark and jump when she needs to go outside. Currently she goes outside with her foster sisters on a set schedule. She is also working on basic commands such as “sit” and “stay.” She already knows “come.”

Maisie came into rescue with dermoids (a congenital growth on the eye that consists of skin and hair follicles) in both eyes. She is also missing a portion of the lower eyelid on her right eye. She has had successful surgical resection to remove both dermoids and reconstruction of the missing portion of the lower eyelid on her right eye.

Maisie’s surgery was one month ago to date. The blueness in her eye is expected to dissipate as she heals.

Her post-operative care includes eye drops in her right eye twice daily and a follow-up with an ophthalmologist four months post-surgery.

Maisie is up-to-date on all of her vaccines, microchipped, and will be adopted with a spay contract. Her new owner will be responsible for getting her spayed when she reaches nine months, and will be required to provide written certification to Cavalier Rescue USA to complete the adoption.

Maisie’s ideal family would be experienced with puppies and willing to work with her as she continues training. It would be best if someone is home most of the time to keep her company.
