Millie needs our help

Say hello to Millie! Millie was one of the Lucky 22 that became the Lucky 27 (after five Ruby puppies were born). Millie had the biggest surprise for us all, she gave birth to 3 puppies bringing the total number saved to a whopping 30!

Millie was such a good mama to her puppies, and was in desperate need of care herself. She came in with an eye injury that ultimately resulted in surgery to have the eye removed. Since delivering her puppies, Millie has been diagnosed with EPI, Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, and is thankfully doing well on her enzymes. To top it all off, Millie has not one, but two knees that require surgery.

Millie was diagnosed with luxating patellas. Luxating patellas are graded from 1 (least severe) to 4 (most severe). Both of Millie’s patellas are a grade 3, with her right being worse. For Millie, this means both her patellas are out of place the majority of the time. Ouch! Last week, she underwent her first surgery and is recovering well, however she still has a long road ahead of her with a second surgery in the future.
