Murphy in Bowling Green, KY

My name is Murphy, a four-month-old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel born May 26th. I came into rescue after a kind-hearted person got me from a breeder and contacted Cavalier Rescue USA to help me find my forever home. I’m a unique puppy with one blue eye and one brown. I think I am very cute with my one blue eye. Everyone I meet tells me so, too. My foster mom describes me as a sweet, loving pup with the typical gentle, friendly Cavalier personality. I enjoy being around people and always want to stay close to my humans.

At just four months old, I’m full of energy, like any puppy my age! I love to chew on anything I can find (including rocks). My foster mom says my forever family will need to keep me busy and watch me closely so I stay out of trouble, but what fun is that? I have seen a lot of new things since coming into rescue. Who knew there were things called toys? They are great! I want all of them so I can play and chew on them. And then treats? Wow! I was not sure what to do with these at first but I am learning.

I’ve been sleeping through the night in my crate, though I’m still getting used to staying calm when left alone. I absolutely love attention and get along well with both other dogs and people. I haven’t yet met any children or cats, but I’ve adored everyone I’ve come across so far. I’ve also had no accidents inside, thanks to being taken outside regularly every three to four hours.

According to my vet, I weigh just over 8 pounds and am in excellent health. I’m up to date on all my vaccinations, but since I’m still growing, I’ll need additional shots in the near future. My new family will have to continue my vaccination schedule and have me neutered once I’m old enough.

A home with a fenced yard is strongly recommended as I am fast and energetic. Since I haven’t had any formal training yet, my foster family is working with me on basic commands. I’ll thrive in a home where someone is present most of the time and has experience with the time, patience, and training that puppies require. Due to my small size, it might be best for me to join a family with older children who know how to handle small dogs.
