Nicki and Alex in Richardson, TX

JUST ADOPTED!

Here are the pups with their new family…

Never was a more adorable pair than Alexander (aka Alex) and Nicholas (aka Nicki). This bonded pair came into Cavalier Rescue when their owner could no longer care for them. It is apparent these boys were much loved and received the best possible care from their previous owner. They are happy, relatively healthy and have big personalities.

Nicki, the Blenheim boy, is 6 years old and the thinker. Alex, the tricolor, is 4 years old and the more playful of the two. Both are completely potty trained and able to use a doggie door if one is present. If not, they both go to the door when they need to go out. They have had no accidents while in foster care and respond to their names and basic commands such as sit, stay, come and a few more.

The boys are very comfortable with other pups and love to play with their foster siblings. Both Nicki and Alex are excellent travelers and are ready to go whenever their leashes appear. They love the outdoors and walks around the block.

Nicki attaches easily and will follow his designated human everywhere. Alex is curious and adventuresome, not afraid to explore his surroundings.

They are current on vaccines, had a recent dental performed, and are on heart worm preventative. Nicki was just diagnosed with a grade 4 heart murmur but shows no symptoms.  The vet has recommended starting him on a heart medication (Vetmedin) more as a preventative. He will need initial monitoring to determine the effectiveness of the medication.  He also has an allergy to chicken so his food is a salmon or other protein-based food. Nicki now weighs 21 pounds which is very near his ideal weight. He also gets over the counter eye drops to help his eyes not get dry.

Alex is heart clear and energetic. His expressive eyes cast in your direction let you know he is about to politely ask for attention. He is a snuggler and loves to curl up in your lap.  Alex is close to his ideal weight at 27 pounds because of his tall stature.

A fenced yard is important for these two boys who love to explore the outdoors. They will give lots of joy and love to anyone who would be so lucky to have these boys join their family.
