Penny in Nashville, TN

Update 1-26-26: We’ve received several promising applications for this pup so aren’t taking more applications for now. Thank you!

Meet Penny, she’s a sweet 4-year-old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel girl weighing 18 pounds and ready to steal your heart (and maybe your socks too!).

Penny came to rescue after her previous family faced a tough loss, and while she was deeply attached to one person, she’s blossomed in her foster home. She’s come out of her shell beautifully, forming strong bonds with both foster parents and cuddling up happily with the other Cavaliers. She’s gentle, loving, and very affectionate. She’s truly a companion dog at heart.

This good girl is fully house-trained with zero accidents in foster care. She goes out quickly to potty, then happily returns inside. At night, she sleeps contentedly in a crate with the door open, in her dog bed nearby, or would love to snuggle in bed with you if that’s your preference.

Penny has one adorable quirk: she’s a professional sock thief! Thankfully, she never chews or swallows them. If socks are left out, she’ll “help” by collecting them.

Walking is Penny’s absolute favorite thing; she walks with purpose, like she’s on an important mission, and she could go forever! A home that enjoys daily walks for exercise and bonding would be perfect for her. She rides wonderfully in the car or even a golf cart and loves being your constant shadow and companion.

She had a dental cleaning and is recovered from her spay. She’s microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and ready for her forever chapter.

Penny does best with minimal time alone; she has some anxiety when her people leave (panting and soft whining), and she can be a bit particular about new people entering the home (quiet growling or hiding at first, but never aggressive). A calm, patient home where someone is around most of the time, with no frequent travel without her, would help her continue thriving.

If you’re in the Nashville area (or nearby) and ready to give this loving, velcro girl the devoted home she deserves, please reach out! Email Liz Nigh, Tennessee Coordinator, at lizcavalierusa@gmail.com to express interest (include your city and state), and also complete an online application if you haven’t already.

Penny is waiting for her perfect match—could it be you?
