Here is Poppy with his new family…

Hi! My name is Poppy. I’m a lov’in, gorgeous, tricolor Cavalier boy with a beautiful thick coat of fur. I’m a really happy, quiet little guy, with my tail constantly wagging. I’m being fostered with another tricolor Cavalier, that’s three years old. I like to play with his toys and chase him around the house. We really like each other and have become quick friends. I like to sit next to my foster mom on the couch and love to follow her everywhere she goes. I never let her out of my sight.

I go for two, one mile walks every day with my companions and I love it! I’m a very good boy on a leash and love being active. I’m a little shy at first around new dogs and new people but love meeting them. There are no cats or kids in my foster home, so I’m not sure how I will do around them.

I’m getting pretty good at house training but it is a work in progress and I need to be supervised inside. I’m crate trained, but I need reminders to go outside every few hours. 

I’ve been neutered recently and had my teeth cleaned with no extractions. I have a mild grade 3 heart murmur with no heart medication needed for now. I also have an eye condition called Pannus affecting my cornea. While pannus is a lifelong issue, it is managed with eye drops every day. But great news! I’ve been seen by an ophthalmologist and my prognosis is very good. I can see extremely well and my progression will most likely be slow. Care is very simple and relatively inexpensive, managed with eye drops which I’m taking and will need for the rest of my life. My shots are all up to date and I’m microchipped. I’m a good eater too.

I need a family who is home most of the time who will enjoy playing with me and who has a securely fend in backyard. I’m a really sweet, easy going, guy and am ready for my forever family.
