Rose in Whittier, CA

1/12/25: We’ve received several promising applications so we are not accepting any more at this time. Thank you!

Meet Rose, a stunning symbol of love, just like the flower she is named after.

This 14-pound, petite Tricolor beauty is approximately one and a half years old. She found her way to rescue when her owner was moving out of state and his plans did not permit her to accompany him.

Rose continues to bloom under the watchful eye of her foster Mom. She is a true Velcro Cavalier, always wanting to be close to her human. A master cuddler, Rose has perfected the art of snuggling.

If you work from home and need a devoted office companion, her resume speaks volumes. As an accomplished errand co-pilot, Rose has you covered, since car rides are an exciting chance to see the neighborhood and again, be with her human.

Rose’s playful curious nature is blossoming. She has begun playing with toys and has even been seen sneaking off with a sock to chew.

While in rescue, Rose was spayed and brought up to date on vaccines. She started taking a joint supplement to help with some stiffness in her rear legs. Even though she can easily jump on and off the nearest couch, a ramp or pet stairs will help her mobility long term. Short walks are also a good way to maintain Rose’s health moving forward.

Potty-training is going well and Rose is learning to go to the back door when she needs to be let out. Keeping her on a potty break schedule throughout the day and evening will help continue her progress.

Rose is at ease around other dogs. However, she wouldn’t mind being an only pet and the center of her new family’s world where she could receive their undivided attention.

Rose has mild separation anxiety. She will initially bark when left on her own but does settle down after a short while. Rose has met children of various ages, and enjoys their company as long as they are gentle. While she has not been cat tested, Rose will chase any bird that lands in the yard.

Unlike most Cavaliers, Rose takes her time eating her meals, savoring every bite. She takes treats politely and they have been a motivation in her learning expected behaviors.

If you are within a reasonable distance from Whittier, and are able to provide this sweet, adoring pup with a calm home where she will continue to blossom, please complete an online application if you haven’t done so already. Then email Nanci at nancigordon@gmail.com  to let her know to consider you for Rose’s new family.
