Spencer in Savage, MD

Spencer is waiting to shower you with love, laughs, and a whole lot of fun. He is an expressive and loving 10 year old Ruby Cavalier born 8/24/2012 with a warm and excited personality and a cute little scrunched face that he knows how to work. Spencer was given to Cavalier Rescue USA by his previous family when they had a change in their living situation.  Spencer came to us fairly overweight, and although he’s lost about 7 pounds, now weighing 32 pounds, consistent mild exercise and a healthy diet are a must to keep him on track. 

You won’t ever have to wonder what Spencer is thinking or feeling, he will let you know with his amazing snorts, huffs, and our favorite of all, his full body wiggles and kisses. Spencer knows all basic commands and is well-behaved, but since he is deaf, he relies on hand gestures and claps to get his attention. He is happiest exploring on short walks, playing with his abundance of toys, chewing on safe bones, or snuggling on the couch! Spencer is house trained, but has had a problem with marking in new places in the past. He is a love bug who has never met a human stranger, especially if they are willing to give pets and scratches, but he is a bit anxious around other leashed dogs. 

Currently Spencer lives with another Cavalier in his foster home, but he would prefer to be an only dog getting all of the attention and love. Another small and calm dog may be considered if it’s the right fit. Spencer sleeps in his bed, in his person’s room, and will stay snuggled up until breakfast time. He is able to be left alone for a couple of hours, but would do best with a family where someone is home most of the day. Spencer is truly one of a kind and he can’t wait to bring you joy, love, and kisses.
