Tank in Kansas City, MO

JUST ADOPTED!
Here is Tank with his new dads…

Meet Tank a 4 month old Cavalier boy born November 10, 2024. Weighing in at 15 lbs, this adorable pup is big for his age, so we call him Tank. He’s a sweet boy looking for his forever home. He came to Cavalier Rescue through a good Samaritan. Tank is smart and playful, and he’s thriving in his foster home. His beautiful tricolor coat, expressive eyes, and affectionate personality make him quite the charmer, and he’s in excellent health.

Tank has learned to walk on a leash, and he enjoys going on walks with his foster Cavaliers. Like most puppies, he’s very curious and delights in meeting new people and exploring new places. He enjoys the company of his foster dog siblings and loves to play with his squeaky toys. Always aiming to keep up with his foster siblings, he’s quickly picking up on the game of fetch! Tank is a great snuggler – when you pick him up, he often rests his head against you. He also loves afternoon naps on the couch after a long walk.

Tank is content sleeping in his crate at night. Given his young age, his foster parents take him outside to potty after about four hours. He is quick to potty and falls back asleep again. Tank’s foster parents have established a routine to keep him on schedule. Tank is still young and not fully potty-trained, and he will need a watchful eye. He does best on a regular schedule; but as a puppy, he occasionally has an accident. Supervision will be necessary while Tank adjusts to the household routines of his new home. He would feel secure where someone is home most of the time.

Foster parents have also been working with Tank on the sit command and walking politely on a leash. Tank is beginning to recognize his name and will come when called. He is intelligent, so he will learn quickly with continued training on basic commands. Tank really is a good boy.

Tank is healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations. His forever family must agree to have him neutered when he reaches 9 or 10 months old (Aug or Sept). Tank’s adoption agreement will be final when his neuter surgery is completed, and proof of the procedure is provided to Cavalier Rescue USA.

This pup will do best with a family where someone is home most of the time with established routines. Tank needs someone who will continue his potty-training efforts – ongoing reinforcement is essential for success. Another easy-going dog in the house to show him the ropes would be great.
