Tobi in Dallas, TX
Here is Toby with his new family…
Tobi is an affectionate and loving 3 year-old Blenheim boy born 7/5/19 who is always up for a snuggle with his person. He is the sweetest boy who has a cute little crooked grin that he knows how to wield to his advantage. Tobi came into rescue after his family situation changed and he needed to be in a home that would be able to devote more time to him.
Tobi walks very well on leash and is happy to go on walks. His ideal home will be one that can take him out on walks regularly. He is also going to need someone who is patient, kind, and loving as he works to gain some confidence and work through some very understandable insecurity. However, you will not find a more loyal and lovable dog than Tobi. In fact, if you aren’t petting him enough, he will give you a gentle reminder with his nose or paw that he would like your attention.
Tobi is currently 11.9 lbs. His ideal weight is estimated to be between 13 and 14 pounds, so he is a bit on the smaller side for a Cavalier. He is current on his vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. The veterinarian stated he has a small ocular occlusion in his right eye which could grow (and if present in one it usually presents in both eyes eventually). He has no problems with seeing and gets around normally. As he ages, he may develop sensitivity to bright lights, but no other effects are expected.
Tobi does have some dog-to-dog resource guarding when it comes to lap and food time. We feel Tobi would be the happiest being an only dog.
Tobi is potty trained. He does not communicate when he needs to go outside for a potty break though. His foster mom is working with him on bell training and he is beginning to understand it! He will need someone that can take him out every couple of hours.
Tobi is a very sweet boy and is such a love bug. He follows his person everywhere and will immediately ask to be in your lap for some love when you sit down. In addition, he would do well in a home where he can get regular and frequent love and walks. The best home for him is one where he is the center of attention without children or other dogs. Tobi’s ideal home would also include a securely fenced yard, someone who is at home the majority of the time and committed to a very affectionate dog.
