Sweet Violet… sweeter than the roses

Hi, I’m Violet! I’m a 3-year-old Tri Color Cavalier born 1/14/23. My foster mom sings that song to me all the time because she says it fits me perfectly, and I have to admit, I am a pretty sweet girl.

I came to Cavalier Rescue USA from a commercial breeder, and when I first arrived, the world felt a little big and scary. I was shy and unsure, but with the help of my four wonderful foster siblings, I’ve been learning what it means to just be a dog. They showed me how to play, how to relax, and how to feel safe. It took me a little time to find my confidence, but now I love running around the yard, joining in the fun, and even snuggling up to sleep with my foster siblings, no matter their size! I haven’t met any cats yet, but I’m such a gentle, easygoing girl that I may do just fine.

At 3 years old, I’m ready to enjoy all the best parts of life by your side. I’ll happily follow you from room to room, join you for leisurely walks, and my favorite activity of all—curling up next to you for a cozy binge-watch session (I do have a soft spot for Bridgerton 💕).

I’m potty trained and such a well-mannered lady that I don’t need a crate. I love treats (who doesn’t?), and I’ve already learned “sit” and “come inside”, especially when there’s a tasty reward involved!

What I’m really looking for is a patient, loving home that will give me the time and reassurance I need to continue blossoming into the confident, happy dog I’m meant to be. Once I trust you, I promise to be the most loyal little shadow you could ever ask for. I’m still adjusting to family life and feel most comfortable staying close to my foster mom. While I prefer people over doggy playtime indoors, I do enjoy running around with other dogs outside. If my forever home has another dog, a calm and friendly companion would be the best fit.

Since coming into rescue, I’ve been spayed, had a dental cleaning, brought up to date on all vaccines and preventatives, and treated for ear infections and hookworms, so I’m healthy, happy, and ready for my forever home! I’m 16 lbs. 

My foster mom says I’m snuggly, shy, and calm. I’m looking for a calm, patient household with someone home during the day. I would be happy with individuals or couples with established routines.
