Wally in Richmond Heights, MO

Update 9-10-24: We’ve received several promising applications for this pup so aren’t taking more for now. Thank you!

Meet Wallace aka Wally! He is a very sweet and affectionate 2 year old tricolored (Blue Merle) Cavalier born 7/9/22. He weighs 19 lbs. He started out as a breeding male and is loving his new life in a family environment. He was very reserved when he came into foster care, but has really come out of his shell!

He loves following his foster family around and is the picture of the Cavalier stereotype of a “velcro dog”. He is desperately trying to catch up on all the love and snuggles he missed out on in his first few years so he is still working on sharing his foster parents attention with others. He will try his best to wiggle in if another dog is getting some love!

Wally quickly adapts to the energy in his environment. During playtime he loves running around the yard with the other dogs and playing with toys. He recently learned to fetch and is amazing at it! When it is time to rest, Wally will happily curl up on your lap for snuggles or sit quietly chewing on a toy.

Wally is potty trained, but has an occasional accident. These are getting fewer and farther between. He has free reign of the house during the work day and makes it through without accidents or getting into mischief. He initially had some issues with marking, but this is better since being neutered. He is in excellent health and caught up on shots. He is microchipped and had a recent dental cleaning.

Wally would do best in a very affectionate home with lots of time and attention to give to him. He loves all people and is great with kids of all ages. He also loves playing with and snuggling other dogs. He likes exploring the yard, but also does well on a leash so a fenced in yard isn’t necessary. He prefers to sleep in bed with his family and would not do well in a home where he was not allowed on the furniture. He would do well as an only dog or with a patient animal sibling that would graciously share the attention with him.
