Willow in Danville, IL

Here is Willow with her new family…

Hello! My name is Willow and I am a very sweet, healthy Blenheim Cavalier with fur as pure as snow. I came to my foster family from a large commercial breeder and I’ve adjusted well to foster care. I love to boss around the squirrels and deer, and I adore running free in the fenced yard! What a delight! My other favorites are treats (healthy ones, of course), supper time, and snoozing on a soft pillow. My foster mom says I like to let everyone know when it is supper time.

My foster mom tells me I am a beautifully built little dog with ever-so-sweet Cavalier eyes. (Aw, shucks.) My coat is still growing in. I was shaved before I came to Cavalier Rescue USA, but I know it will be quite lovely, because it is so, so soft. I kind of look like a puppy at the moment, but my cinnamon ears are getting longer and the feathers on my legs are getting fluffy. They say I am probably somewhere between 6 and 8, but the humans are not really sure.

I am looking for a quiet home without children, because quick, sudden movements and noises frighten me. I’m a little nervous around people, but living with my foster family and dogs has me feeling much more comfortable. And I am happy to tell you that noises on TV don’t bother me one bit! I am choosy about the humans I trust and would like to find a quiet, patient, forever friend who will make me feel safe and secure. I am always gentle and sweet, even if I do shy away. I will be happiest in a home with someone home most of the time and another dog brother or sister who can help show me that life in a family can be secure and wonderful. My foster mom says I deserve to live the best life!

I am mostly what they called “house trained” but need to be kept on a schedule and let outside regularly. Some of my initial accidents in my foster home were due to fear and nervousness. So some accidents are to be expected in my forever home at the beginning while I adjust to your home and routine.

Since coming to Cavalier Rescue USA, I have been fully vetted, spayed, had a dental cleaning where 12 teeth were extracted, and brought up to date on my vaccines and preventatives. I am feeling so much better in my new life!
