Zuri in Kenmore, WA

This is Zuri! She’s a female tricolor Cavalier puppy born December 15, 2023. She came to the rescue as a breeder surrender due to a genetic heart condition called a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). She’s feeling amazing after having surgery to repair the defect (thank you to our donors!) and is expected to live a normal life.

Zuri is always happy! She likes to make trouble in typical puppy ways, but she’s very food motivated and would love to go to puppy classes with you! She will be the perfect pet for a very lucky family.

Zuri has never met a person or dog she didn’t like. She does well with her foster family’s 9- and 12-year-old children, too. However, we do not recommend a house with cats as she does not play gently with them. Walks have been limited due to restrictions during recovery, but she loves to go out and explore.

As she has spent most of her recovery time in a limited area, potty training is a work in progress. She is crate trained during the day and does really well. She weighs 10 lbs and is up to date on her vaccinations. Please note, her new owners need to have Zuri spayed by the time she’s 9 months old.

Zuri would do great in a variety of different households. As is the case with Cavaliers, she needs a home where she isn’t by herself too much. Children over the age 5 years old are a great fit for her. She’d love another dog in the home but would be okay as an only dog too. She’s not compatible with cats.
