Please help Wren!

Wren was given to rescue at 9 weeks old after her breeder’s vet discovered the pup had a heart murmur. The murmur turns out to be very severe at a level 5/6.
Her primary veterinarian has referred her for a cardiology work up and surgery for patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). This is a congenital heart defect that occurs when a large heart vessel (ductus arteriosus) fails to close down at birth. The goal of surgery is to close the ductus arteriosus and have normal blood flow in the heart chambers.
When PDA is caught and treated early, most dogs will enjoy a long, normal life without further heart problems. Without surgery, Wren will likely not live more than 2 years before dying of congestive heart failure.
Wren has a great personality, and loves cuddling with her foster family. She gets along well with the dogs and cat in her foster home. Wren doesn’t know she’s sick and loves to chase leaves and pounce on her toys. She does take a few extra naps during the day, but the largest indicator of her need for help is when holding her you can feel her rib cage shake from the murmur.
Wren’s surgery costs will be about $6K. She is just 16 weeks old now and with this heart procedure, can go on to live a full and happy life. Please donate if you can!
