Sugar Needs Your Help!
Update 12-5-25: Sugar came through surgery well and is now recuperating at her foster home. Our heartfelt thanks to those of you who donated and sent well wishes for this tremendously sweet Cavalier!

Sugar is a super calm and loving 6 year old Blenheim Cavalier. She’s great with adults and kids and dogs and cats and everyone. Her favorite activities are hanging out with family and cuddling. Sugar has an exceptional temperament – she’s loving, easy-going, and will be an excellent family pet.

Sugar’s original owners passed away, and after she came to rescue, she had a dental cleaning which revealed a worrisome mass under her tongue. The mass was sent to pathology, and biopsy results indicated the mass was cancer, likely originating around the root of the tooth, near the bone.

Our vet referred Sugar to a Veterinary Dentistry specialist for a consultation. The dental specialist vet recommended surgery to remove the affected area, including the front portion of Sugar’s lower jaw. This procedure is Sugar’s best option for life and the only way to eliminate the cancer.

It will be an expensive surgery, estimated between $5,000-8,000, and we are asking for your donations. Poor Sugar lost her first family, and now she’s facing a serious health problem that could impact her well-being, life expectancy, and quality of life. She needs this surgery, and we need your help.
