Abbey in Erie, CO
Meet Abbey, a 10-year-old tri color female Cavalier who is a little sweetheart! With her adorable tongue flopping out the side of her mouth—no teeth, no problem—she’s a certified professional in the art of gentle kisses. While she may be a little shy when first meeting new people, it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and become your loyal little shadow.
She enjoys gentle playtime with her foster siblings and will even toss out a playful bow when the mood strikes. But more often, you’ll find her snuggled right up next to them (or on your lap!) enjoying the quiet moments. That said, she’d also be perfectly happy as the only dog in the house, soaking up all the love and attention for herself. She’s happiest when she can curl up near you while you work or relax.
Abbey is incredibly food motivated and makes an excellent sous chef, keeping close tabs on kitchen activity. Since coming into foster care, she’s been on a healthy diet and has already lost 1.5 pounds—go Abbey! She weighed 19 pounds when she came in and needs to lose some more weight. Her new family will need to continue helping her stay on track so she can keep feeling her best.
This little lady gets around just fine, even with a grade 2 luxating patella on her left leg. The patella does not need surgery, but will benefit from some more weight loss. She climbs stairs, hops up on the couch for snuggle sessions, and loves going on walks to explore the world. She has a grade 4 heart murmur and is on pimobendan, but she doesn’t let that slow her down. Abbey is happy in the car, chill during bath time, and all-around just the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. She is up to date on all of her vaccines, is spayed, and microchipped. She had a dental while in foster care, which resulted in her losing the remaining few teeth she had.
With her mellow energy, sweet spirit, and goofy charm, Abbey is the perfect blend of low-maintenance and lovable. Whether you have a pack or just want one perfect pup to spoil, Abbey’s ready to fill your home with warmth, tail wags, and heart-melting snuggles.
